Pxlplz, LLC Releases Star Saver for iOS: The Fate of the Galaxy Rests in Your Tentacles in This Adventure Game

Red Bank, NJ (PRWEB) August 14, 2014

Pxlplz LLC, founded by games industry veterans Benjamin Cole and Casey Gatti, announces the release of Star Saver, a hilarious Space Squid Adventure on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

Eat your way through a colorful new Galaxy with a lovable Space Squid as your guide, along with a gluttonous Royal sidekick who gains power with every cake he devours. The Stars are mysteriously disappearing from the sky, and only Squidly the plucky young Space Squid, and Prince Squishy the Hungry can find them. Unfortunately, they’ve been chained together, so the unlikely duo must cooperate to find the stars and win their freedom.

The player takes control of Squidly in this retro inspired madcap adventure. Players can explore over 25 levels across 3 planets, fighting baddies and solving puzzles along the way. Luckily Squidly can direct Prince Squishy’s voracious appetite to his benefit, eating and spitting items to help solve puzzles. The game is accompanied by a rocking chiptune inspired soundtrack.

“This is totally the game we wanted to play as kids,” said Benjamin Cole, Co-founder of the indie games company Pxlplz LLC. “We took some of our favorite elements from classic 16-bit games plus our own brand of spaced-out humor, and threw it all into a blender.”

The open world game play presents an array of paths to select from. Players find cakes scattered throughout the levels, which expand Squidly and Prince Squishy’s skills and invite them to master these new abilities. Along the way they’ll meet enemies, bosses, and friendly NPCs creating hours of challenges for the heroes.

Star Saver is available on the iTunes App Store where players can experience the first part of the adventure for free. A one-time purchase unlocks the rest of the game with no tricky in-app purchases or additional items to buy. Classic 16-bit style adventure at its best.

Jeff Corwin’s Tips to Help the Planet This Holiday Season

(PRWEB) December 23, 2013

December 28 will mark the 40th anniversary of Congress passing the Endangered Species Act (ESA), designed to protect critically imperiled species from extinction. The legislation continues to be crucial, not only for protecting endangered species, but also for helping preserve the environment and natural habitats.

Here at JeffCorwinConnect, the animal kingdom and the health of the planet we all share is always on our mind. One of our core goals is to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. So as we take the time this holiday season to reflect on our accomplishments and goals for the coming year, it is also the perfect time to commit to ensure that our individual actions have a positive impact on the environment and all of creatures who share it, said Emmy award winning TV host and Naturalist Jeff Corwin. To honor the 40th anniversary of the passing of Endangered Species Act, here are seven positive actions you can take this holiday season and in the new year to help save species and ecosystems:

1. Reuse and recycle we live on a planet with finite resources, and if we can reuse the things we already have, and find new uses for old materials this holiday season, we will do the earth, and all its creatures, a very big favor.

2. Visit your local zoo or aquariumThere are more than 200 AZA accredited zoos and aquariums in the US, every one of which supports conservation for animal habitats around the globe. Take the family for a fun day.

3. Volunteer Find local organizations that help restore local wildlife and habitat. Donating time is a great way to learn about your local environment and volunteering is a great family activity.

4. Eat locally produced sustainable food Holidays means a lot of good food. Eat locally produced sustainable food – the food tastes great, fewer chemicals used to grow food mean fewer chemicals in the land and supporting local producers reduces your carbon footprint.

5. Donate to an organization If charitable giving is part of your year-end rituals, consider including an organization that works here or abroad for conservation of animals and their habitats.

6. Gift Green Less packaging, gifts that arent plastic, newspaper for gift wrapping, bringing your own bags to stores to shop, eco-friendly presents all simple, easy ideas to make a holiday season even more special.

7. Be active on social media is where we are building a community of friends and environmental stewards, and there is strength in numbers. Join us or other social media communities and lend your support and voice.

From everyone at JeffCorwinConnect, we wish you a very healthy and happy holiday season.

Los Angeles, CA. (PRWEB) August 05, 2013

For full recaps, check out the Monster Energy web site. Highlights include:

In Street League Skateboarding, Nyjah Huston reclaimed the throne by dominating the finals. From the start Huston was on a roll and easily took the winits his eighth X Games medal and fourth gold, and this marks his 4th SLS win of the year. Meanwhile, his teammate Chris Cole continued his very successful 2013. Sitting in 6th place coming into the last Impact Section of the finals, Cole pulled a bunch of clutch trickshalf Cab noseslide 270 out, a switch frontside flip, switch backside blunt slideto take the silver. Thats a one-two finish for the Monster Energy team.

In the Skateboarding Vert, Pierre Luc Gagnon (PLG) took silver, adding a 20th medal to his trophy case. “I’m really happy to be on the podium and earn my 20th medal for the last year of X Games LA,” said PLG afterwards. “It’s great to be performing at a high level after suffering from a knee injury earlier this year. I can’t wait to be back at a 100% next year.”

Over in BMX Big Air, Vince Byron landed a history-making trick and bagged a well-earned silver. On his third run he pulled a superman seatgrab 360 over the gap followed by a 540 double tailwhip on the quarterpipe. Its the first time the trick has been pulled at X.

Thanks to the insane and legendary videos from Ken Block, this year Gymkhana GRID made its X Games debut. Liam Doran battled to a bronze medal thanks to his precise, technical driving on the course that saw drivers drifting and sliding around cones, tires, barrels, shipping containers, and more.

Monster Energy riders took the top three spots in Moto X Freestyle, with Taka Higashino, Adam Jones, and Nate Adams going 1-2-3 respectively. This is the third straight win for Higashino, who took gold at X Games LA 2012 and X Games Foz do Iguacu 2013.

Another Monster Energy podium sweep came in Moto X Speed & Style. In an event that combines racing and FMX for a combined score, Nate Adams took gold, Blake Williams silver, and Andre Villa bronze.

In Moto X Best Whip, Josh Hansen took gold and Jeremy Twitch Stenberg took silver. Stenberg was throwing his signature batch of smooth, flowing whips, but Hansen lit the whole building up with a whip that was so big, and so upside-down, that many in the audience were surprised that he actually landed it. Its his first career Best Whip gold.

In Moto X Racing, Josh Hill returned to glory by taking silver after a gnarly leg injury three years ago. In a tough battle for the podium, Hill fought through the courses tight turns and track to take the holeshots and a solid finish.

Over in Womens Moto X Racing, Monster Energys Kiara Fontanesi grabbed the holeshot in the main event and led the early portion of the race before settling for a solid and well-deserved bronze medal.

In the all-video, all mountain freestyle snowboarding contest known as Real Snow Backcountry, Mikey Rencz took gold. Judged by a panel of industry experts, Renczs insane 90-second part can be seen here: is the hub for all the highlights from Los Angeles, including full results, recaps, and exclusive photos and videos produced by Monster Energy.
